BARRY Town United will resume their Welsh League Division One campaign at Goytre AFC this Saturday at 2.30pm.
Without a league fixture this weekend, fans of the club were among the 4,000 supporters who travelled to watch the Wales team in Austria.
Everyone connected with the Jenner Park club has one eye on the Nathaniel MG Cup, following Friday afternoon’s Quarter-Final draw.
After disposing of Cardiff Met by a single goal in the Round of 16, Gavin Chesterfield’s squad have been handed an attractive home tie with fellow Welsh League side Haverfordwest County, with the fixture to be played on Tuesday, October 25 at 7.45pm.
The winners of this tie, set to be settled on the night, will then tackle either Newtown or Carmarthen Town at the regionalised semi-final stage, with Connah’s Quay, Rhyl, Bangor City and holders The New Saints the remaining north Walian sides in contention.
Without a league game on Saturday, October 8, Barry have meanwhile fallen to fourth in Welsh League Division One, following impressive victories for Caerau Ely over Port Talbot Town and Ton Pentre against Saturday’s opponents Goytre.
Goytre themselves stormed to a third-placed finish in 2015-16, narrowly behind the Town and will be eager to consign Barry to second successive defeat on the road, following the club’s 2-1 loss at Cwmbran Celtic several weeks ago.
