BRYNHILL Golf Club are celebrating 95 years since it opened and the ladies section decided to get into the spirit of the occasion at their latest competition.

On Saturday, May 21, 1921, the first president of Brynhill Golf Club, Major William Cope MP, officially opened the club with a drive-in.

The ladies captain, Liz Fine, decided to celebrate with ladies playing golf in 1920s style clothing on Thursday, June 23.

Lots of ladies played golf in long skirts which, although cool around the legs, billowed out in the breeze.

Difficulty hitting the ball didn't deter winner Gemma Evans, who, over 12 holes scored a very respectable 21 points.

The ladies then had a lunch together catered by Mark, Brynhill's in-house caterer.
