IMAGINE a place where 3 – 5 year olds work happily with their peers, follow instructions and burn up loads of otherwise un-channelled energy. All sounds too good to be true?

Well happily it’s not - welcome to Ninja Kids. The most junior budding martial artists can take their first steps in Tae Kwon Do under the expert eye of four times Tae Kwon Do Open World Champion, Joseph Schembri, who is the head instructor at JSTKD Martial Arts and Fitness which has classes for all ages and abilities throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

To introduce their brand new class, starting on Mondays from 4 - 4.30pm at St Nicholas Hall, Barry they have a fantastic competition for your child to win a six week Ninja Kids course including their very own stylish and practical Ninja Kids uniform so they can look cool and stay cool as they master the moves at their new venue.

As well as entering the competition, they would like to invite any budding Ninjas to join them for a free taster lesson. Just let them know that you will be coming along by calling 07711 234500 or email joestkd@gmail.com and they will book your place in the class.

Older brothers and sisters (6 – 9 years) can also book a free taster at the new Junior Kickers class which will shortly be starting and will follow straight afterwards at 4.30pm.

Their established Ninja Kids programme is specifically tailored to the 3 – 5 year old age group and is based firmly around having fun but set within a structured environment.

Youngsters will learn not only the basics of this Korean martial art but many other essential skills such as recognising ‘stranger danger’ and learning to work as a team. Concentration levels often improve too - it’s no easy task to learn the technical side of a move whilst also learning the correct Korean terminology.

Balance and co-ordination are developed through a series of engaging exercises and games where children quickly learn how to take on board and implement instructions.

Self -confidence is given a natural boost as students help and encourage each other to learn and progress. Their young students rise to the challenge admirably and the twice yearly ‘Ninja Graduation’ gives them the chance to show off their skills for family and friends.

The Ninjas have their own colour belts to aim for and are always bursting with pride at their accomplishments. Many Ninjas then progress to the junior classes and onwards to achieve their Black Belts.

To be in the running to win the Be a Ninja prize, just answer this simple question:

Q. What is the venue for the brand new Ninja Kids class?

Please email your answer to joestkd@gmail.com and remember to include your name, contact details and your child’s age. Closing date is Friday, October 16.

Please note that the winner must begin their six week course within one month of winning the prize. JSTKD's decision is final.
