RECENTLY the Cadoxton and West End Schools of Tae Kwon Do held their first colour belt grading of 2015.

The grading took place at the Victoria Park Community Centre, where 23 students from the Cadoxton and West End Tae Kwon Do clubs were put to the test by master Ron Thomas 8th Dan assisted by Anita Sheppard (West End club instructor) and Matthew Bennett assistant instructor.

The exam consisted of all aspects of this Korean Martial art; patterns, set sparring, floor work, free sparring and power tests, finishing with theory.

The grading was a success with all 23 students passing their grading, four of which achieved top grade “A” passes; they were Lucia Cunningham, Cameron Evans, Jessica Blackley and Logan Magorimbo.

Jessica was awarded the Cadoxton grading shield with Logan winning the West End grading shield.

Successful candidates were:-

Promoted to 9th Kup Orange belt: Leland Butler and Logan Magorimbo.

Promoted to 8th Kup Yellow belt: John Campbell, Riley Rees, Bailey Rees, Maci Connell, Rhys Perrett and Ella Bedford.

Promoted to 7th Kup Green stripe: Charlie Rogers, Kiera-Watson Wood, Emily Miles and Peter O’Callaghan.

Promoted to 5th Kup Blue strip: Thea Cunningham, Maddison Allen, Courtney James and Leo Cummins.

Promoted to 4th Kup Blue belt: Cameron Evans, Ethan Andrus and Brooke Baker.

Promoted to 3rd Kup Red stripe: Kurtis James and Lucia Cunningham.

Promoted to 2nd Kup Red Belt: Jessica Blackley and Martin James.
