CASCADE 1 CADOXTON BARRY 11

A DOUBLE figure score ushered in a championship double for Cadoxton Barry Football Club in the South Wales Senior League Division Two.

CB kicked off against lowly Cascade knowing that a victory would see the First team emulate the achievements of their Third string, and bring an incredible double championship success to the club.

Whilst the scoreline alone tells the story of the game, it is worth noting that nine of the goals were accomplished with some style.

The highlights of a sleek, all-round team performance included a five-star, five-goal show from James Dawson and a hat trick that included the goal of the game from Darren Baker.

In a magic and mazey run down the middle he danced around or jumped over numerous challenges before creating the space to round off his own good work by scoring.

The biggest cheer of the day, however, came just seconds before the final whistle when substitute and hitherto the only C.B. outfield player not to have scored this season, Lewis Stait, volleyed home a tremendous cross from fellow substitute Ross Weekley.

And there was no time for that cheer to die down as it blended into the cheer that heralded the final whistle, and the South Wales Senior League Division Two Championship of 2009/2010!
