In yet another week of rain and postponements a few Vale teams managed some action.

Cardiff Airport made the long trip north to face Porthmadog in the JD FAW Cup Round three, but their excellent cup run finally came to an end losing to their Cymru Championship North opponents 5-1.

Sonny Lambert opened the scoring early on, but the dream was not to be.

However, Airport leave the cup with their heads held high.

In round three of the Hugh James SWFA Senior Cup, Holton Road also travelled north - to Brecon - where they faced Brecon FC and left with a 3-2 victory.

After going behind 2-0 their comeback was made complete by Jack Cutterjar and a Paul Morgan brace.

Vale United travelled to the Rhondda to face Ton Pentre. Despite taking the lead through Ryan Hughes, two late goals by the Rhondda Bulldogs sealed their 2-1 victory.

A disappointed Dinas Powys exited the cup with a 1-0 defeat away to Cardiff's St Josephs.

In league action, Wenvoe based Ely Rangers beat Championship promotion rivals Clwb Cymric 3-0 at Ocean Park, Cardiff.

Alex Long (two) and Richard Greaves sealed a fine win.
