THE Barry-based Park Lions were among thousands of fans roaring on local football heroes Cardiff City to the FA Cup final.

The boys' teams are sponsored by Cardiff recruitment and training agency Knap Consulting whose director Trevor Rees is construction group sector chair of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

Park Lions comprise teams of under tens, nines and eights with many of them going to watch Cardiff play at home the week before they beat Barnsley in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Among those going to Wembley were Trevor and his son Eddie who plays in the under nines team. They were among the lucky ones who before the game met Cardiff City manager Dave Jones at the Landmark Hotel in London along with the team's stars such as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Joe Ledley, who scored the winning goal against Barnsley.

So they were able to pass on the best wishes of all Lions' players before their big game.

Some of the boys and their families managed to get tickets for the semi-final at Wembley and now, they are hoping they will be lucky enough to get tickets for the final against Portsmouth on May 17.
