SULLY SPORTS 3

AFTER the disappointing mid week home defeat by Grange Albion, this South Wales Senior League Division One game followed the same pattern with the away team - this time Sully - taking a two goal lead early in the second half only for the home side to claw back into the game as Sully had done days before.

But this time it was the Sully team who claimed the points with a well deserved win.

The game started in ideal conditions and with Gooderham and Hinds lively up front, Sully forced the pace.

Outstanding in the middle were Ferguson and Underdown whose patched up body parts were black and blue from some dodgy tackles received in the midweek game.

Ross Taylor too was seeing plenty of the ball and Sully led when Taylor Moore cut into the box and beat the keeper with the help of a deflection.

Chris Hurn blasted a good chance wide and Sully went in at the break with a narrow lead. Within minutes of the restart Ryan Gooderham lobbed the keeper to increase the Sully lead, but after a period of pressure Ton scored to set up a grandstand finish and equalised soon after to spoil Sully's hard work.

But Sports kept plugging away and from a free kick the keeper could only parry the ball which was forced in by Joe Hinds to give Sports the points.

The team was disappointed that due to injuries and players crying off late, players who were carrying injuries were added to an already over-tired squad.

SULLY SPORTS 1

This was a good performance from the Vale Premier Division side who gave their all against the league leaders who were complimentary of the Sports play in a excellent game at the Sports Centre stadium.

Although both teams were missing players the football played was of the highest order and Sully wish the Mariner the best of luck if they go on and win the Premier League and progress to the higher level.

This Saturday Sports travel to Penarth for another hard game.
