AN END to end encounter saw Tynewydd take a point at home to Cogan. Ryan Butler and Lewis Union both had efforts on the visitors' goal in the first period but were off target.
Tynewydd's defence had to be alert as Cogan had a much changed strike force but solid defending kept them at bay.
The home side took the lead in the second half when Nathan Howell netted from close range, and Smith's free kick almost doubled the lead soon after.
A needless free kick was conceded and slack marking resulted in Cogan equalising past the stranded Reggie in goal.
