THE Barry Dragons Elite School of Martial Arts travelled to Worcester on Sunday, March 30, for the WUMA English Cup.

First to the mat was Chloe Steele competing in -125 advanced points sparring. Chloe took her first fight 5-0 outclassing her opponent with combination kicks and excellent fitness. She then took her second fight 7-2 earning herself first place. Chloe is eight-years-old and an upcoming fighter at the club and has been rewarded with a place in the WUMA British Team travelling to Greece for the WUMA World Championships in November of this year.

Next up was Cameron Davies who was unbeaten in 98 fights and was looking to take his total to 100. Cameron fought in the -135 advanced points and continuous categories and took his first fight 5-0, his second 6-1 and final 6-4. He then took to the mat -135 continuous sparring dominating the group and winning yet another first place. He has now taken his unbeaten run to 103. Cameron is an outstanding student who trains six times a week and is always setting new targets for himself.

Macauley Steele fighting in the -145 points category was next winning his first fight 6-3 but was narrowly defeated in the next round and took third place. Then it was the turn of Rory Coleman who made a step-up to the men's -55kg points sparring. Rory surprised the crowd with speed and determination winning his first and second fights 6-1 and 5-0. He then took the final 8-7 in terrific style earning himself his first men's -55kg first place.
