THE champions Billy United travelled to O'Briens, earning a comprehensive 12-0 whitewash to go top of the table.

Gary Roberts impressed early on to give the Billy another winning start, backed up by wins for Martin Pring and Ian Roberts. Les Ashton came under early pressure – narrowly avoiding being 'seven balled', only to fight back to earn the win to put the Billy 4-0 up.

The doubles saw further wins for Billy pairs vice-captain Mark Ingram and Rhoose youngster Andrew Wilson, as well as Gary Roberts and Ashton, soon followed by the Billy taking the final four singles to make it 10-0. Again the Roberts brothers took no mercy with their opponents in the doubles, as the Billy secured a 12-0 victory.

The Wildcats hosted Finnegan's, with the in form Wildcats claiming victory in 11 out of the 12 matches.

Ceri Morris dished out seven-ball wins in three of his games, unluckily none off the break. Ian Hill won all of his matches, with Steve Watkins winning four out of four and winning the man of the match. For Finnegan's, the shining light was again Carson Martin.

The Libs Rejects fought out an exciting 6-6 draw against the King William IV team from Cadoxton. Trailing 4-2 at the half-way stage, the King William would fight back with Neil Tipples and Les Hunt leading the way. King William would win the last two doubles matches to set up a sudden death shoot out, with the cool head of Neil Tipples taking all the glory. A draw was a fair result with Tom Ivins, Alex Campbell and James Bastow all playing well, but man of the match goes to Mike Roberts who impressed in every game he played.

The Wanderers made the trip to The Ship in style, via limousine, to take on the top of the table team. Rhod Thomas got them off to a winning start, before The Ship won the next two frames, but Nick "The Hurricane" Taylor made it 2-2. The doubles were shared to make it 3-3, before the next set of singles were shared with Boz Bartle and Hurricane Taylor winning for The Wanderers and Graham Avaient and Adrian Leadbetter Winning for The Ship.

The game would finish at 6-6 for another black ball sudden-death shoot out, won thanks to a slice of good fortune from Nick Taylor for the Wanderers.

At the Millwood Pot Jacks, a closely fought contest saw The Dark Lords come away with a 7-5 win, with

Gavin Rowlands and Ralph Miners both scoring heavily for the away side.

For the Millwood Pot Jacks, Nick Parry, John Proctor and Nigel Tutton were the stand out players.

The Vale's county team The Islanders would have no luck on there travels to Haverfordwest, losing 18-12 in the cup and missing out out on the Porthcawl finals week.

The team have a had a great season and if they win this Sunday at Neath, they will be promoted as division champions.
