FOLLOWING a week of disruption due to high winds and heavy rain, Barry Community Tennis Club took to the courts for action.

The new Tots tennis session was well received at 9.15am on Saturday, June 10 and followed by the usual busy juniors, minis and adult beginners sessions, before the 9u team hosted Cowbridge LTC for an Aegon Team Tennis fixture.

The nail-biting fixture, which saw five of the 10 rubbers going to a deciding third set, but despite battling hard, the home team lost 4-6 overall.

On Sunday, June 11 the youngest of the teams, the unders 8s hosted sister club Penarth LTC, and despite great sportsmanship, there were no wins for the home team.#

Everyone enjoyed the matches and the post-match picnic in Romilly Park.

In the afternoon, the ladies team went to another sister club, Llantwit Major Tennis Club for the return fixture in the ladies summer doubles league, and in somewhat blustery conditions, the BarryCTC ladies secured a 4-0 victory.

With only two fixtures left in the division, and having won 3 of the 4 played so far, the race is on to see if Barry CTC can secure the division title.
