Tynewydd FC 2- Pumas A 2

Men's Division One

THE Tynny went into their second game of the season on the back of disappointing 1-0 loss in their first match, in a scrappy game with Glenbrook.

Both sides restricted each other to minimal chances in the first 45 but early into the second half the Pumas 'keeper lost sight of the ball in the sun giving Ross Smith an easy tap into an empty net to make it 1-0.

Tynny failed to capitalise on their lead and instead the Pumas stormed into 1-1 scoreline when they took advantage of a scramble in the box to draw level and then quickly went 2-1 up with a well worked passing move was turned home from 12 yards out.

Tynewydd had numerous chances to make it 2-2 but left it until late in the game to finally take a deserved point.

A lovely curled ball into the box by Lloyd Union created mayhem in the Pumas area and newcomer Joe Williams on only his second appearance calm volleyed home from 10 yards out to give the Tynny a share of the spoils.

Man of the Match went to Jodie Shepherd.

Rhoose 0-2 Tynewydd FC

Men's Division One

Looking to continue their improvement from midweek, Tynny got their first win of the season to make it a full house of results in their first three games.

Starting the better Tynny created numerous chances that went begging until Ross Smith thundered in a rocket of shot when he was left with space 30 yards to scream the ball into the top corner.

Like midweek though the Tynny failed to take advantage of a multitude of chances they created most of them coming from corners from Lloyd Union and Gareth Tinsley's strong midfield runs.

Unlike midweek though Rhoose failed to break Tynny's strong defence down and it was one of that defence who scored Tynny's second of the game when George Pycroft perfectly met a Lloyd Union corner to power a header in and gave Tynny all three points.

With the large amount of chances wasted, Tynny could and probably should have won by more so this should be something to work on the coming weeks if its not to cost the Tynny.

Man of the Match went to Lloyd Union.
