SULLY Stadium Team entertained Ogwr (Bridgend) at Sully on Saturday requiring a win with full points to keep the pressure on the teams at the top of table.

With a number of players unavailable the Sully squad was challenged as the Sully rinks were changed allowing squad members the opportunity to play and for others to play in various positions.

The game was delayed for half an hour as players from both sides were delayed due to a serious incident on the M4 motorway; as a result Ogwr began the game playing with four rinks of triples.

The missing Ogwr players finally arrived after eight ends had been played with the score as one would expect, in favour of Sully who was leading by 31 shots 58 – 27.

The game took a little time to adjust to the rink changes but Sully continued to out play the opposition and by the 15th end had increased their advantage to 70 shots 131 – 50.

Sully maintained their advantage right up to the final end and secured a comfortable win by 78 shots 157 – 79 securing the 22 points on offer.

Although Sully had made many changes it was encouraging to see many of the fringe players playing well and putting themselves forward for selection for the final league game of the season against Newport on Saturday, February 7.
