BARRY Town United have confirmed that the club will welcome a Cardiff City XI to Jenner Park for a pre-season friendly.

The Town will kick off their pre-season schedule with a trip to Welsh League Division One newcomers Briton Ferry on Saturday, July 19.

The club will then have a chance for further silverware on Tuesday, July 22 as the Gary Lloyd Cup is contested for the second time against holders Llanelli at Penybont FC.

Saturday, July 26 will see Barry travel across the Severn Bridge to challenge Hengrove Athletic, in a friendly celebrating the Bristol club's 50th year at their Norton Lane home.

On Saturday, August 2 Haverfordwest County welcome Barry back to Bridge Meadow Stadium, site of the recent Women's World Cup match between Wales and Turkey.

The Barry v Cardiff clash three days later on Tuesday, August 5 will be the first of two marquee matches at Jenner Park in short succession, with Merthyr to visit Barry in the FAW Word Cup tournament the following week on Monday, August 11.

The Vale council have granted Barry Town a temporary licence for these two fixtures, that will allow hospitality arrangements in the stadium for the both of these games.

The licence will be issued for four weeks and the clubhouse will be returned to the Council on Thursday, August 14.
