I WRITE regarding the council decision to write off an £86,000 loan to the YMCA.
In my opinion the council is using the public purse monies to write off this interest free loan.
Is this not a Robin Hood in reversal technique, writing off money owed by the Hub centre whilst pursuing less well off residents who may have problems with payments to pay up asap?
Therefore is the rise in our council taxes geared to the plight of the Hub centre?
I feel the residents of Barry who are struggling to pay council taxes and rent/mortgages would like their debts to be written off, perhaps they too could provide valid projected accounts to indicate insufficient funds for repayments.
Where is the logic and fairness as there are many organisations closing down due to lack of funding ie some social services, Citizens Advice Bureau as stated in the newspaper.
I would like to know if other residents are in agreement with this proposed outcome.
