I SHOULD like to thank all those who supported me in the Rhoose by-election on June 30. It was a disappointing result for Conservatives but I congratulate Mr Riley on his success.
Unfortunately, only 32 per cent of the electorate voted meaning that the successful candidate was supported by some 11 per cent of the Rhoose ward electorate, although of course the percentage share for all other candidates was less. Is this a sign of a general disillusionment with politics?
