READING a recent letter from Gwyn John from Llantwit Major where he is being critical of the Vale MP Alun Cairns, hypocrite comes to mind.

Here we have Gwyn John who did not even use his title, but let's call him Councillor Gwyn John, he berates Cairns yet this man is responsible for the possible implementation of parking charges around various towns around the Vale except his own town of Llantwit Major.

He is also partly to blame for turning off our street lighting, but you have to say his comments regarding Alun Cairns are spot on.

Alun Cairns, Tory MP for the Vale recently voted to cut the payments of tax credits to tens of thousands of people around the country including the Vale. Mr Cairns also voted not to abolish the tax on women's sanitary products.

Mr Cairns in 2015 was elected by the people for the people, he was not voted to jump to Cameron's orders. Before the election David Cameron took part in a special edition of Question Time and he was asked by a member of the audience if he was going to cut tax credits and child benefit, he said he had no intention of cutting these benefits, yet he lied to the people.

Here we have our own MP voting to cut these tax credits while he enjoys claiming over £190,000 in expenses, plus his generous salary topped up by a 10 per cent increase.

How any decent person elected by the people can follow a leader who told a blatant lie in front of millions of people is a disgrace.

Alun Cairns should hang his head in shame and along with Cameron's resign.
