I WOULD like to thank everyone who has helped me raise an amazing £3000 for the Velindre Chick Knit Appeal.
Thank you to my family and friends who have knitted chicks and bunnies, the shops, hairdressers, cafés, friends and the Enfys Craft Fair who sold them and of course the many people who have purchased them once again this year.
The Chick Knit Appeal has raised approximately £1.3 million since it started in 1997 with all proceeds used to support patients at the Velindre Cancer Centre. An amazing 70,000 chicks were knitted and sold this year, with some being sent as far afield as the USA, France, Africa and Singapore.
More knitters are always required, the chick pattern can be obtained by downloaded on velindrecc.wales.nhs.uk/chick-knit--appeal-1 or by contacting Julie on 02920 196860.
