I EXPECT by now most, if not all, residents of the Vale have had their new council tax letters drop with a mighty thud on their carpets.

Another massive rise to go with the last two which has almost taken the rise in council tax to 15 per cent over three years, thank you very much Vale Council, and yet you had our council leader Neil Moore trying his best to justify the increase.

Where on earth does Neil Moore live, he lives in his ivory tower paid for by us the residents, picks up his £47,000 a year, plus whatever else he can grab and leaves the residents to rot.

Not only have we got this to put up with but now the council have rubber stamped the cuts for the libraries, this is shameful that these cuts have been brought in, which will obviously lead to job cuts, less hours and in some cases manned by slave labour (volunteers).

All this to save £187,000, yet at the same time Neil Moore has advertised the vacant post of managing director with a salary of over £120,000 a year, this beggar’s belief.

Very soon our council are bringing in a charge for our waste food recycle bags when we run out, well I can tell Mr superman Neil Moore that if my household runs out I will not put one extra penny into your coffers, you want me to recycle fine, you supply the tools free of charge, take it out of the 3.9 per cent increase in my council tax.

And don't wait with abated breath, next on the cards will be a car parking charge around various sites in Barry, plus a charge to use the currently free multi storey car park.

This council and a Labour run council at that has been an unmitigated disaster for the Vale. It’s a council run by clowns who appear to want to destroy the towns and villages of the Vale.

I think it’s about time that we the people of the Vale now started to stick up for ourselves. I am going to investigate as to whether we the residents can come together and give this council a vote of no confidence which I hope will then lead to an election being called so we can kick this useless lot out before they destroy everything we have in the Vale.
