ON Friday I was queuing to be served in Williams Stores in Barry when a man came in and asked if they did cash-back. The lady behind the till said they didn't, but they had a cash machine in store that didn't charge for withdrawals.
A few minutes later a group of three rather loud and excited Christmas jumper wearing teenage girls came into the shop. I heard one say in a loud whisper to the other "look that man hasn't taken his money from the cash machine!" The girls then exited the shop in a flash.
After I had paid for my bottle of wine, I went outside and to my surprise found that the girls had not run off with the money as I had thought but had raced after the man who hadn't forgotten his money to give it back to him.
Young people in Barry often get a bad press but I think there are some amazing ones too, just like those girls.
