I DO SO hope the people at the Vale of Glamorgan Council who are planning to downgrade Rhoose Library can attend the public meeting at Rhoose Social Club on Monday, December 15, at 7.30pm.
The residents of Rhoose really do need to be told in the simplest terms why they should volunteer to run the library after the librarians have been given their marching orders.
Only a fool would expect to enjoy a much used and efficiently delivered service that they have already paid for when they could do it themselves for free.
Count me in for a go at driving the bin wagons.
Voters in Rhoose could be under the impression that they are somehow a “cash cow”, paying for the other libraries in the Vale whilst getting nothing in return.
I am confident that the council staff and cabinet members who proposed this scheme can win over the public if only they could find the time to explain the plans in more detail.
