WELL what a shocker to read that the Cabinet of Caerphilly Council have decided that they are now going to take a five per cent cut in their salaries with immediate effect.

They have now come out and decided that they must share some of the pain their residents are feeling due to the cuts, you can’t really knock ‘em for that, whether five per cent is enough I don't know, but it’s a start.

So now that this council has decided to do this perhaps those in the Assembly Government, Carwyn Jones et al, could follow suit, and how about the Vale Councillors doing their bit.

The Vale Council is going to try and achieve savings of over £32million over the next couple of years, there will obviously be cuts of some degree and job losses, so it would be a good example if Mr Neil Moore and Co would also take a pay cut as well.

I see no reason why those at the top should not escape any cuts and as for our own Vale MP Alan Cairns what a hypocrite, slating the Welsh Government for cutting the funds they give to councils when it is his government to which he is part of are the cause of all this mess. Perhaps Mr Cairns and the rest of his Tory shambles of a government would like to take a drop in salary as well.

George Osborne recently said that "we are all in this together" somehow I think what he meant to say was "everyone barring politicians is in it together". It has been well advertised that after the next election MPs are to be given a 10 per cent pay rise, I feel if this goes ahead it will cause an absolute furious reaction from the people. The MPs should be taking a 10 per cent pay CUT not rise.

Well not long till election time and all of us who are in it together can kick out those who wish to be part of a different gang. Bye, Bye Cameron.
