WITH the security operation for the NATO Summit in full swing, the security fence being erected around various parts of Cardiff, M4, Newport etc, the deployment of some 9500 police officers, where on earth they got all these from with all the cuts and redundancies/

This is also going to cause major headaches for transport into and out of our major city, Cardiff, and surrounding areas, not to mention the upheaval of families going to work and taking kids to school.

But the latest news, and one which is an utter disgrace and heads should roll, is the closure of Barry Hospital from the first of September to the eighth of September.

The culprits for this is the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, who have stated that the closure will help support police and ambulance staff to man a triage and treat service in Cardiff for this NATO event.

How wonderful while this support is in Cardiff what about the residents of the Vale who use Barry Hospital daily, or need urgent blood tests, or X Rays?

We have to do what the Vale Health board tell us and go to the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, or The Royal Glamorgan, Llantrisant, or go to the Heath.

How on earth do you expect the elderly and disabled to get to these hospitals?

The Chief Operating Officer of the Vale Trust Alice Casey should hang her head in shame and resign.

When it comes to people’s Health Ms Casey you do not compromise, shutting the Barry Hospital is a national disgrace and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I am a taxi driver in the Vale and I, like the rest of my colleagues, transport people to and from this hospital every day and many of the people are elderly and disabled, how are they going to get to these other hospitals?

You also say contact your GP, that’s an even bigger laugh.

You are very lucky to get an appointment nowadays.

It really is reassuring your comment that all staff will be back on the eighth.

Shame on you, you are a disgrace to your position, and you should resign with immediate effect.

What a disgraceful act you have done how could you stoop so low to play with peoples’ lives.
