MAY 7, 2013,our son's 25th birthday.
Unforgettably, it was also the day when Barry Town Football Club was bizarrely pulled out of the 1st division of the Welsh League by its then owner, the planned game that night cancelled.
One year later, Barry Town Utd FC is now fan run. They have bigger crowds at Jenner Park and outstanding results. They have gained promotion to league 2 and won the league 3 title .Despite the Welsh FA demoting the club from 1st to 3rd division, the fans have galvanized their skills to aid the team. We would like to thank all the loyal supporters, professional management, generous sponsors, tireless committee members not forgetting the very talented players and their supportive families. Thanks must also go to the ground staff at Jenner Park, our local MP and the sports minded councillors of Barry. The Tynewydd Inn for allowing us to use their pub as a clubhouse for post match meals and the weekly lottery. A special mention also for our fab ball boys.
Finally, the writer of our award winning match day programme, club historian and press officer, they have all worked tirelessly to promote BTUFC.
Well done Barry and District News for great coverage of our year of ups and downs. Good luck for next season.
