ON Monday, March 10, the first meeting of Barry Citizens was held in St Helens Church Hall, Wyndham Street.
The Barry group is the local hub of an organisation spreading all the way from the Vale, Cardiff, Wales, and ultimately to all UK citizens, the object of which is for the members of participating organisations to receive training to reach out to people in their community, to listen to their concerns on issues of local social justice.
Essentially, Barry Citizens has no agenda of its own but relies on feedback from local people to identify local problems and then to attempt to solve them.
Local organisations such as charities, tenant's associations, churches etc who would like to send representatives to the next meeting/training session on April 14, at 7pm, are invited to contact me, Peter Wilson, on 01446 732616 or e-mail peterwilsonjazz@btinternet.com or further information.
