Postcard from Barry…

I HAVE in my possession a picture postcard from my home town of Portland in Dorset. It was sent to a Miss J Goodman at 39 Fryatt Street, Barry, with the message: ‘Wednesday... leave tonight for Barry, Alf – Portland.’ I guess Alf was in the Royal Navy at Portland, as the stamp has Portland Harbour on. The stamp is sent with love, as it’s been put on angled, which was the in-thing then. I should be pleased to send this card on to any family member, and I can be contacted via the email address below.
