LAST month I sent in a letter highlighting that loneliness is a massive issue for people in later life in the UK and specifically in Barry, where Age Concern Cardiff and the Vale had a waiting list of over 20 people looking for someone to visit them to have a chat and a cup of tea or to help them get out of the house.
The Barry and District News printed that letter and as a result we now have five new volunteers in the process of being recruited.
