CONFUSION over whether signs installed at Barry train station signal the onset of parking charges has prompted a railway company to confirm no fee is required.
Arriva Trains Wales said the blue signs, which have NCP (National Car Parks) depicted on the top corner, would be changed to clarify the situation.
The car park, for use by train passengers beginning and ending their journeys, does not house any pay and display machines.
But charges are applicable to anyone flouting parking rules.
An Arriva Trains Wales spokeswoman said: “We are in the process of amending the existing signage in the car park at Barry Station to make it clearer that parking is free. However we are keen to stress that enforcement is still being undertaken to ensure that customers are parking in the correct allocated parking bays and not on yellow lines.”
