THE Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Creative Rural Communities Team, are working with the residents, businesses and stakeholders of St Athan on a community mapping project.

Community mapping is a way of bringing a community together to focus on the positives in their neighbourhood and to look at solutions to any problems arising.

The process involves getting people talking about what already exists in terms of social assets (community groups, organisations and individuals), physical assets (community centres, open spaces and businesses) and what really matters to the community.

By working with the community of St Athan, the Creative Rural Communities Team hopes to develop the assets in the area and identify opportunities for new future initiatives.

Two drop-in sessions will be held at the Gathering Place, Flemingston Road, St Athan on Monday, April 25 9am to 8pm and Wednesday, April 27 9am to 8pm.

If you can’t make these sessions and would like to have your say, you can complete the St Athan community survey by visiting www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/StAthanSurvey.
