THE only over 21's nightclub in Barry is launching this weekend, with the same venue's over 30's bar opening some time near Christmas.
Controversial comedian Daniel O'Reilly, otherwise known as Dapper Laughs, will be opening Bar Cocoa, on Broad Street with several other VIPs also lined up for the sold out event.
Demand was so high for the opening of Bar Cocoa, a joint venture between Barry men Michael Ruckley and Scott Walters, that a second run of tickets had to be printed.
When the pair began converting the premises, the old Railway Club, earlier this year Michael, 27, explained that the idea was to not only save one of Barry's old clubs from becoming housing or flats but to give older people in the town a nice venue for a night out.
The plan ultimately entails Bar Cocoa being a split level venue with an over 30's bar upstairs and an over 21's nightclub downstairs.
Michael said: "No one can believe it's the same place, it's totally changed. It's been a struggle but we've just about made it.
"The support we've had off everyone has been amazing. Everyone is buzzing for the opening. It should be really good."
