VALE regional AM Andrew RT Davies signed the book of condolences at the Senedd this week, paying his respects to the victims of the Paris attacks.

Mr Davies, a Vale resident and Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, signed the book opened at the Senedd by Marie Brousseau-Navarro, Wales' honorary consul of France. The book is open to all members of the public to sign, if anyone wishes to add their name and respects.

South Wales Central AM Mr Davies, said: “I was deeply shocked and saddened waking to the awful news from Paris. These were despicable, evil attacks and the perpetrators have shown themselves to place no value on human life.

“The book of condolence is available for people across Wales to pay their respects and I am sure that I speak for everyone in Wales in saying that our thoughts and prayers are with people of Paris as they come to terms with this tragedy.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder, united with France. We will never be cowered by terrorism.”

Mr Davies has also laid a statement of opinion in the National Assembly for Wales which states: "This Assembly stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of France following Friday's appalling acts of terrorism, remembers those who have been so cruelly taken and the relatives left behind, notes that no country will be cowered by terrorism, and recognises the faith of Islam as one of peace which is not represented in any manner by ISIL/Daesh."
