A GROUP of retired business people and professionals recently got the low-down on life in the House of Commons.
Probus 1Barry group invited Vale MP Alun Cairns to spill the beans at the Three Horseshoes in Moulton.
He spoke about his time in Parliament and the issues of the day to the Probus group which provides regular meetings and is seeking new members from the newly retired.
President of Barry 1 Probus, Jeff Owens, said: “We were very pleased to welcome Alun, and he spoke to us with an engaging yet non-partisan speech about his time Parliament. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.”
Mr Cairns said: “I was delighted to have been invited to speak at such a well-attended group, attending from across the Vale. My hosts were very knowledgeable on the big issues of our time, but it was very interesting to hear the local views on such important topics.”
