AS PART of Health Living Week, Colcot Primary School pupils were treated to an energetic programme of health related fitness and fun.

Pupils learnt about the importance of looking after their bodies, having a healthy diet and keeping safe.

They were also treated to workshops from visitors including PC Matt Cunningham who taught children about keeping safe online, Mark Dodds who led a fitness sessions and Paul Arcos who taught the children about the benefits of massage and relaxation.

Headteacher Nia Cule said: "Healthy Living Week has been a tremendous success and the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about how to keep healthy, fit and safe."

Pupil Ewan Robertson, aged 10, said" "I have really enjoyed the week and learning about the heart, blood and how to stay fit and healthy."

Children also learnt about oral hygiene, the effects of fizzy and acidic drinks on the body and also enjoyed tasting healthy fruits and vegetables.

Mrs Cule added that the Healthy Living Week was an example of the exciting learning experiences planned by staff at the school who are constantly looking at new ways of making the curriculum fun and engaging for the children of Colcot.
