BARRY'S outstanding yachtsmen and women and their local sailing heritage were celebrated at Barry Yacht Club’s annual dinner and awards evening on Saturday, February 18.

Club veteran John Hart provided a highly amusing account of the trials and tribulations of sailing in the Bristol Channel. Also present, showing her support for local sporting clubs, was Assembly Member Jane Hutt.

The Commodore’s Plate for outstanding services to the club was presented to Maxine Cattle.

Praising the club’s members for their achievements Roger Donkin, a vice president of Barry Yacht Club, said: "Barry is a Yacht Club that caters for both dedicated sailors through to ‘landlubbers’ content to enjoy just the social side. The various awards were a fitting tribute to sailing achievements."
