THE Fire Fighters Charity, the UK’s leading provider of life-enhancing services for the fire and rescue community, is seeking brave volunteers to abseil over Barry Fire Station's fire tower to help raise vital funds!

The sponsored abseil takes place on March 11, and allows courageous participants to take the plunge and drop over the abyss, then abseil down to the bottom.

The experience promises to be thrilling for both adrenalin junkies and more land-loving types – with all participants welcome.

If you are over 18, have no serious medical conditions and are seeking a thrill then this could be the challenge for you!

There is a £10 registration fee and you only need to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. All participants will receive a certificate to prove they did indeed take the challenge This could also be a great gift, and vouchers are available!

Natasha Mason, regional fundraising manager for The Fire Fighters Charity, explains: "The Fire Fighters Charity is available for all members of the fire service community during their times of need, assisting thousands of individuals every year by providing pioneering treatment and support services.

"Your brave abseiling efforts can help us make this difference." It costs £9m every year to meet the needs of the charity’s beneficiaries, and with no government funding, it is completely reliant on donations.
