THE Royal British Legion with the Vale of Glamorgan Council will be observing the nationwide two-minute silence for Armistice Day, in Barry at 11am on Thursday, November 11.

A short service will take place on the Civic Office forecourt in front of the Merchant Seamen Memorial.

The Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Cllr Colin Osborne, together with the council chief executive, leader of the council and other political leaders and representatives of local organisations will lay wreaths.

The start and end of the silence will be marked by the playing of the Last Post and Reveille.

Cllr Osborne extends an invitation to members of the public to join him at the ceremony.
