RESIDENTS in a Barry Communities First area found a healthy way to enjoy themselves when they turned out for their Annual Family Fun Day.

Hundreds of adults and youngsters attended the Gibbonsdown and Court Change 4 Life event at Pencoedtre playing fields on Friday (June 4).

The health and well-being themed day witnessed the ever-popular Gibby & Court’s Got Talent competitions, a range of fun activities, and police dog and horse handling displays.

Vale Council visible services senior officer, Denny White said: "We have had a wonderful response.

"The whole community is interested in the projects that we are doing as well as the introduction of the food waste scheme."

Communities First coordinator, Sharon Topazio said the event had been a great success with the team working in partnership with many local agencies.

She said: "The finale of the day was the Gibby and Court's Got Talent Competition which went down storm with everyone.

"It was a great day out for all!''

Health-related organisations were also on hand to give advice throughout the day.
