A BARRY boy seriously injured in a car smash is appealing for witnesses to the horrific event.

Through his solicitors, Christopher Price, 11, who suffered head injuries that left him in a wheelchair, is urging locals with information to come forward.

Sonja McGarrigle of Russell Jones and Walker solicitors told the News: "This is an urgent appeal for witnesses who may have seen what happened.

"If you were anywhere around Western Hill and Holton Road in Barry on Tuesday, August 19, 1998, at around 4.30pm, you could well have been an important witness to a road traffic accident, involving Christopher Price, who was only seven at the time.

"Christopher spent a long while in hospital in a coma and the severity of his injuries have caused a delay in the legal action.

"Therefore witnesses spoken to after the accident, or anybody who was at the scene just before or after the accident, could have some very vital information that was not taken down at the scene or shortly afterwards."

She added: "However insignificant you think it could be, we urge you to come forward as soon as possible, whether you have been interviewed before or not.

"The sooner you come to us, the quicker we will be able to get a clear picture of this tragic accident.

"We know four years is a long time to think back. But it was a very serious accident and would probably stand out in someone's memory.

"This is a very serious situation, and we need your help.

"Please come forward."
