THE LADIES Captain Mrs Pam Melvin announced at Brynhill Golf Club Ladies Section AGM, that the club has decided to confer an honorary membership on Mrs Jo Whitehouse in recognition of her many years of loyal support to the club and ladies section.
Jo has been a member for more than 40 years and in that time has been Ladies Captain, Committee member, a First and Second team player, representing the Seconds as recently as two seasons ago.
She has also been Club Champion and has always supported golf and social events throughout the years.
Jo has also supported her husband Brian throughout his term of office as Club President, attending club social and golfing events such as supporting the ladies team at the Welsh team championships when they were held at Pennard.
On behalf of the ladies section Pam presented Jo with a cut glass goblet to commemorate the occasion, to loud applause.
Jo thanked Pam and all the lady members for her beautiful gift which would take pride of place in her home.
Jo added that she was delighted and very proud to accept the honour of becoming only the second lady to be made an honorary member.
Jo thanked everyone for their support and friendship, wished the incoming Ladies Captain Mrs Linda Gershenson and her Vice Captain Mrs Helena Coombes a successful year and hoped that all the lady members would enjoy their golf next season.
