AN UNSTOPPABLE Indian takeaway in Barry is a finalist for yet another award.
Royal Balti Barry on Vere Street in Cadoxton is famous not just for its food (available for collection or delivery) but due to the numerous awards the business has won.
Following the venue winning a Good Food Award in January, Royal Balti Barry has been shortlisted for another Good Food Award.
Muhammad Ahmed, who co-owns the business with Niaz Haidari, said: “As owner I feel very proud to have been shortlisted again for a Good Food Award.
“Without my dedicated team and our loyal customers, we wouldn't have achieved this.
“So, a big thank you to all from team Royal Balti Barry.”
He added that the team always takes “pride and care” in the quality of food they serve and aims to provide “the best possible customer service”.
The multi-award-winning takeaway has celebrated many victories in 2023, including:
- Winning ‘best Indian establishment’ at the Food Awards Wales 2023;
- Winning ‘takeaway of the year’ at the Nations Curry Award 2023;
- Becoming a certified premises for Award Winning Food.
“Along with being a multi-award-winning Indian takeaway, we are proud to have re-achieved our ‘five’ food hygiene rating,” added Mr Ahmed.
Royal Balti Barry was inspected by Food Standards Agency on June 14 and maintained its “excellent” rating.
“Along with our team being dedicated to providing good quality food, they have maintained our high standards in hygiene practices,” continued Mr Ahmed.
“This is an important factor in the curry industry, and within all food businesses.”
The Good Food Awards were founded in 2002 and are free to enter – with more than 599,000 food venues across the UK entering for 2023. The winners are selected based on food quality, service, and value with a focus on customer rating and votes.
Along with winning the 2023 accolade, Royal Balti Barry won a Good Food Award in 2022, and hopes to win it for 2024.
