FOUR speeding drivers in the Vale have been in court recently, and were handed fines totalling more than £600.

Brian Simpkins, 54, of Narberth Court, Barry, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 28.

He was caught doing 35mph on Skomer Road on September 6. The limit for the road is 30mph.

He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Lisa Spanswick, 37, of Burns Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 1.

She was caught doing 54mph on the A4119 Mwyndy Cross, where the limit is 40mph. She was fined £100 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Matthew Watkins, 36, of Blackberry Drive, Barry, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 29.

He was caught doing 36mph on the A473 Cowbridge Road, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £107 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Sarah Jane Taylor, 41, of St David’s Crescent, Penarth, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 28.

She was caught doing 36mph on Greenway Road, where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
