FIVE people including three children had to be rescued from a Barry house fire on Christmas Day.
A total of 40 firefighters were called to the fire at around 5pm on Monday (December 25) at Merganser Court in the Barry Dock area.
Fire engines from Barry, Penarth, Ely and Cardiff Central attended the scene.
The fire was in the second floor of the house and had breached the roof by the time fire crews had arrived.
The two adults and three children were unhurt but were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene as a precaution.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
