A NEW memorial at Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery, Barry, has been unveiled by the town council.
The "Sanctum Panorama Columbarium" is a 32 vault circular memorial, in which each niche is able to accommodate up to three urns of cremated remains.
The council agreed to purchase the memorial in November 2016, as an addition to the new expansion area of the cemetery.
The first interment of ashes took place on Tuesday, June 27, being that of the recently deceased Michael John Drake, the husband of Barry Town Councillor Pamela Drake.
