THE first round of the Rotary’s programme of youth competitions, designed to develop pupils’ skills, was held on Friday, January 6, in Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School, organised by the Rotary Club of Barry.
The winner of the young chef competition was Erin Corcoran from the school who will go on to represent Barry and compete in the Vale Area 4 Final to be held early in February at the same location.
Runners-up were Yustra Khan and Georgia Chambers.
The judges for the competition were Jill Pearson and Mary Tornabene from Soroptimists.
Prizes were presented by Rotary Club of Barry president Robin Pitcher who praised the competitors and thanked everyone for their invaluable support.
Later in the month the first round of the Rotary Youth Speaks Competition will be held in Ysgol Bro Morgannwg.
