PHILLYBEAR’S playgroup had a very busy time over the Christmas period.

The group got ready for Christmas with lots of arts and crafts to take home to their parents and enjoyed a Christmas party on Friday, December 9, with a bouncy castle and a visit from Santa with a gift for all of the children.

To further get into the spirit, children and staff wore Christmas jumpers and took part in dressing up days and got to make Christmas cookies.

The highlight of the month though was their Christmas concert.

As PhillyBear's cater for children as young as 18 months, preparations for the concert began in early November. They learnt songs, with all children getting involved with the older youngsters showing the way.

The Christmas concert, held on Monday, December 12, was attended by more than 80 parents, family and friends.

For some of the children this was a shock to see so many faces looking back at them. However, they sang so well and put on a fantastic show which was a mixture of Christmas songs, nursery rhymes and welsh songs.

This was a chance for the children to show-off what they have learnt during their time at PhillyBear’s Playgroup.

This was the fourth Christmas concert held at PhillyBear’s and by far the largest. A big well done to all of the children as they did such a fantastic job of singing.

Staff also said goodbye at the end of the year to some of the children who left to start school.

PhillyBear's playgroup now enter their fifth year and have plenty planned for 2017.

PhillyBear’s Playgroup caters for children aged 18 months to five-years-old and have a big indoor area and a garden.

The group takes place at 5th Barry Sea Scout Hall, Everard Street, Barry and they have spaces available.
