THE following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates’ Court sitting at Cardiff:
Christopher Llewellyn, 26, of West Walk, Barry, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer. He was sent to prison for 10 weeks suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £250 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.
Jade Elizabeth Miller, 20, of Charlotte Place, Barry, pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without consent, driving without insurance and driving without a licence authorising her to drive a vehicle of its class. She was sent to prison for 10 weeks and her licence endorsed with six penalty points. She was ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.
Michael James Syms, 34, of Radnor Green, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault. A community order was made requiring him to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. A restraining order was also made. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.
Anthony David Frost, 38, of Bassett Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault. A community order was made requiring him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £85 surcharge.
Curtis Timothy Kirby-Karavasili, 25, of Kingsland Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to contacting someone on social media despite being prohibited from doing so by a restraining order. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
Joshua Mackay, 23, of Paget Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault and threatening to destroy someone else’s property. He was fined £346 and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
Abdi Ahmed, 21, of Barry Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault. He was sent to prison for eight weeks suspended for 12 months. A restraining order was made and he was ordered to pay £100 compensation, £500 costs and a £115 surcharge.
