THE Gallery is Barry has racked up yet another top food award, having been named as the Restaurant of the Year at the Food Awards Wales.
Off the back of winning the Welsh "Food Made Good Champion" award for the third year running earlier this month, The Gallery took first place in the top award at the second annual Food Awards Wales.
This latest award will now be added to the Gallery's numerous titles, leaving owner Barnaby Hibbert to wonder whether the Broad Street restaurant may need a bigger award shelf.
"It's always nice to get an award," he said. "It's just a pat on the back and a testament to what we're trying to achieve.
"I'd like to say a big thank you to my team and congratulations to all the other winners.
"This is the second Food Awards Wales and I hope the awards go from strength to strength."
The Gallery was joined by fellow Vale business Restaurant James Sommerin in the winners category, with the Penarth based eatery being named the winner in the Best Fine Dining category.
Both The Master Fryer chip shop on Skomer Road and the Tiffin Rasoi Indian takeaway were nominated in the South East Wales Takeaway of the Year category but lost out to the Something’s Cooking chip shop in Letterston, Pembrokeshire.
The second annual Food Awards Wales were held at Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on Monday, April 20. The awards aim to recognise the hard work and efforts of the Welsh food industry across restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros, as well as shining the spotlight on the local producers who supply their ingredients.
