THE Gallery Restaurant will celebrate its second anniversary and another award winning year with a Michelin starred party this June.

As well as marking its second year of business the Barry restaurant is celebrating winning the Welsh Sustainable Restaurant of the Year Award two years in a row.

To celebrate, chef patron Barnaby Hibbert is planning a very special party on Monday, June 8 having invited his friend and mentor, Michelin starred chef Shaun Hill to cook a special meal with him.

Shaun Hill, from the renowned Walnut Tree in Abergavenny, is a legend of British cooking and has over 30 years of Michelin starred success.

The Walnut Tree was named the best restaurant in Wales and 14th in the UK in 2014 by the National Restaurant Awards and Shaun was given an Outstanding Achievement Award by Observer Food Monthly.

Barnaby Hibbert said: “ I wanted to throw a great party for our loyal customers and for people who have been meaning to give us a try.

"I have known Shaun for years as a mentor and friend. I couldn’t think of better way to celebrate."

Shaun Hill said he was delighted to be invited to man the hobs at The Gallery.

“Barnaby and his team are a great neighbourhood eatery serving delicious food using fabulous ingredients," he said. "This is the type of food I love, so I am delighted to be a part of this special evening."

The event is being promoted and organised by Food Adventure who offer unique food tours and experiences in Wales.

"It’s not every day a Michelin starred chef travels to Barry to cook. Lucky diners will feast on a fabulous four course dinner paired with wine.
