PEOPLE from all the churches of Barry are invited to join together on Good Friday for the annual two-mile Walk of Witness through the town.

Father Robert Parish, Rector of the Barry Churches of St Paul’s and Merthyr Dyfan and organiser said: “everyone, children and adults, is warmly invited to join in at the start at the Parade Gardens at noon or anywhere en route”.

The walk is being supported by churches of all denominations in Barry will include children from Church Sunday Schools and Youth Clubs. Leaving the Parade Gardens the walk will travel via Broad Street to arrive at King Square in time for a special service for Good Friday at 1.30pm.

The wooden cross, made by Barry College, will be carried in the procession to re-enact Christ’s carrying of his cross on the way to his crucifixion.

This is the fourth year of the Barry Walk of Witness which began in 2012, led by the Archbishop of Wales, Dr. Barry Morgan.

The Mayor of Barry Town will also be attending the walk and all councillors are invited to attend.
